A Voice That Didn't Belong to Anyone

We were in a supplier's warehouse, testing bowls. Then someone struck one in the corner — old, dark, unpolished. The note held. "That one's not for bulk order," the supplier said. "It's from a workshop that closed."People want new." We asked to hear the rest, we've always stopped for things overlooked by faster eyes.

FAQ

What is meditation and how can it help me? Can I hear the bowl before ordering?

Meditation is a practice that involves focusing your mind and achieving a state of calm awareness. It can help reduce stress, improve mental clarity, enhance emotional well-being, and promote overall health. Regular meditation practice has been shown to lower anxiety and improve sleep quality.

If you would like to hear a specific singing bowl before placing your order, please contact us via WhatsApp. We can share a short sound video whenever available, so you can get a clearer sense of its tone, sustain and presence before choosing.

For handmade bowls, each piece may sound slightly different, so we recommend listening before purchase if tone is important to you.

Do I need any special equipment to get started?

Not at all. Every singing bowl we sell comes with everything you need to begin — a wooden malletand a cushion ring (felt or rubber) to gently rest the bowl on. Simply place the bowl on the cushion, hold the mallet, and either strike the outer rim or circle it slowly to produce the sound.

No prior experience, no extra tools, no complicated setup. Just you, the bowl, and a quiet moment.

If you later want to explore deeper techniques, you can experiment with different mallets or a larger bowl — but for 90% of our customers, the included set is all they’ll ever need.

What's the difference between antique and new singing bowls?

Antique singing bowls are decades to centuries old. Each one is unique — hand‑hammered with traditional alloys, often showing a natural patina and a complex, warm tone that many describe as “lived‑in.” They are rare and cannot be reproduced.

New singing bowls are made today by the same families of artisans using the same techniques. They tend to have a cleaner, brighter sound with longer sustain. While not “vintage,” they offer reliable quality and consistency — and every new bowl we sell comes from the same family workshop in Nepal.

How do I choose the right singing bowl for my needs?

We understand that choosing a singing bowl can feel overwhelming. To make it easier, you can decide by intention or by tone.

Choose by intention:

  • For beginners – Natural Brass Singing Bowl
Easy to play, bright and forgiving tone. Great for learning and daily practice.
  • For deep meditation – Aged Singing Bowl
Darker, richer harmonics with a slower decay. Helps you sink into stillness.
  • For sound healing practitioners – Tsangbati Aged Singing Bowl
Complex overtones, strong physical vibration. Designed for professional use.
  • For travel / small space – Manipuri Singing Bowl
Lightweight, portable, yet still produces a satisfying, clear sound.

Choose by tone:

  • Deep / Grounding – Low‑pitched, resonant, best for body‑felt relaxation.
  • Bright / Clear – Higher pitch, crisp attack, ideal for morning meditation or focus.
  • Long sustain – The sound lingers for 15–20 seconds, creating a floating, spacious atmosphere.
  • Compact / Easy to carry – Small size, light weight, no sacrifice on sound quality.

Still unsure? Our customer service team is happy to help. Just tell us how you plan to use the bowl — we'll recommend a match.

What size singing bowl is best for a beginner?

For most beginners, we recommend a medium bowl (18–22 cm / 7–9 inches). It offers a balanced tone — not too high, not too low — and is versatile enough for personal meditation, home use, and even light sound therapy.

If you travel often or have limited space, a small bowl (12–14 cm) is lighter and portable, with a brighter pitch.
If you already know you want deep, full‑body resonance, a large bowl (25 cm+) is ideal, but may feel heavy for a first bowl.

When in doubt, start with 20 cm — it’s our best‑selling size for a reason.
