Spiritual Library

The Books We Never Planned to Sell

We started with Thangkas and singing bowls. But people kept asking what we read. So here they are — a small shelf of texts on Zen, the Dao, and the quiet mind. No bestsellers. No life hacks. Just what stayed with us.

FAQ

Are the Spiritual Library books for sale?

Some books may become available from time to time, but this collection is not built like a normal product shelf.

The Spiritual Library is more like a small reading corner inside Temple1st — a place where we share books that have shaped the way we think about stillness, ritual, sound, devotion and everyday practice.

Not every book here is meant to be sold immediately. Some are simply here because we believe they belong beside the objects we offer.

Why include books in a spiritual object store?

Because an object becomes more meaningful when it is supported by understanding.

A singing bowl is not only something to strike.
A Thangka is not only something to hang.
Incense is not only something to burn.

These objects carry feeling, attention and tradition. Books help us slow down enough to meet them properly. They give language to the quiet things we may already feel but do not always know how to explain.

For us, the Spiritual Library is not separate from the store. It is part of the same practice.

Which book should I start with?

Start with a book that feels easy to return to.

For beginners, we usually recommend simple and direct writings on mindfulness, Zen, the Dao, meditation or daily awareness. A good spiritual book does not need to be complicated. It should make you pause, breathe, and see ordinary life a little more clearly.

You do not need to read many books at once. Sometimes one page, read at the right moment, is enough.

Will more books be added?

Yes. The books we choose for the Spiritual Library are not selected only because they are well-known. They are chosen because they reflect the spirit of Temple1st: quietness, sincerity, inner balance and a slower way of living.

In today’s fast-moving world, many people come to us not only looking for an object, but also looking for calm, direction or a more meaningful way to build their daily practice. When customers share their questions with us, or when we notice a topic that may be helpful — such as mindfulness, Zen, incense, sound healing, the Dao or emotional balance — we may add books that offer gentle support and deeper understanding.

The library will be updated from time to time, not as a trend list, but as a thoughtful space for books that may genuinely help people slow down, reflect and reconnect with themselves.

If you are looking for guidance on a certain topic, you are welcome to reach out to us. When we can, we would be glad to share books that may support your reading, reflection and personal practice.
